‘I remember when the lights would go out when I lived at home a couple of years ago. Luckily most of those times would be when I wasn’t home alone because I have to admit, I am still afraid of the dark. Knowing this, and knowing we might always have access to batteries and whatnot, my dad purchased several rechargeable flashlights, one for every main room. I love those things. When I went to school, my dad let me have one of them just in case the lights would go out. I keep on my desk where it was accessible to me at all times. One time about a month ago, the lights went out. Luckily, I had my flashlight.

It’s Friday, and I wish the lights would go out. It would give me (hopefully) a few hours to myself. I have so much to do this weekend, especially today. I just want to lay in the dark, not by myself btw and just do nothing for once. I’m exhausted, mind and body. With Bluddy being here is also not helping at all. The rain is making things worse but luckily I have my yellow rain jacket and my rain boots. We’re going apartment shopping today in a couple of a hours and I hope we decide on something and I hope things work out for the best for everyone.

Believe.

post You Think You Know..

Coming into the college, I wanted to prove this wrong, “you develop your lifelong friends in college, not high school”. It’’s not that I didn”t want to make good friends in college, I felt strongly that the friends I made in high school would last til the end. But halfway into my undergraduate years, it’’s coming true. Looking back at the good friends I made in high school, we were all too young and naive to think that distance will not be a problem. We all thought we grew up enough to think that we”d last forever. Sharing all our secrets together isn”t enough I guess. Looking back at my best friends in high school, I realize that the ones that stay are the ones that can survive through rough times; the ones that can handle hardships; the ones that can last. I”m forever grateful for your friendship Shantel. I”m not sure if I deserve a friend like you but right now I don”t care. I”m lucky to have you in my life and I hope it continues forever, as corny as it may sound.

Things don”t happen as you please, but you should take it as it comes.

post Cumulus Clouds

I thought today was going to be a bad day yesterday. It was raining really hard last night and I thought that rain was going to continue today but it didn”t. The sun managed to peek its way through the beautiful cumulus clouds in the bright blue sky ! I had a test today but I didn”t go because I would have failed it if I had taken it. It’’s President’’s Day and I didn”t have my accounting class today. I had two papers to write by 2:30pm and I had 2 hours to start and finish them both. I managed to finish it neatly and quickly with an hour to spare. As I was walking to the bus stop, I had my headphones on listening to my w580i phone music. When I got to the bus stop, I looked up and saw the beautiful cumulus clouds. As the sun was screaming its heat, and as the wind was ruining my hair, I got happy all of sudden! I can”t wait until the summer. :D

post Duke

I’m going to Duke University in a minute or so to attend a show they’re having. It’s for lunar New Year and also from their ASA. I’m excited to go but I’m also pissed the hell out that people can be so unreliable these days. People don’t know how to make set plans. I’m sick and tired of them doing that.

But yeah, as I’m writing this, I’m waiting to drive to Duke to watch the show. I hope it’ll be fun!’

post Happy Valentine’s Day!

February 14th, 2008

Filed under: daily — sophia @ 12:10 pm

I wish I had the time to read nowadays. I used to read every day with the books I’d buy from Barnes and Noble. That used to be my favorite place to go but since college began, I don’t think I’ve read an entire book. I’m hoping to read at least one book before the school year ends. I would love to go to B&N once again and browse for possible good books to read. I’ll be sure to go visit as soon as possible.

I’m going on a triple Valentine’s Day date today, I can’t wait!

post Bribes

I finished up two lab reports yesterday right before class. I can’t say that is a good thing though. I used to always wait until the night before assignments are due but nowadays, I wait until the morning of to start and finish work. It’s a bad habit and I can’t stop doing it. Oi, but my best friend tried bribing me saying that if I make a 3.0 GPA this year, she’ll buy me a pair of shoes! Hahaha. And the shoes I’ve been wanting for awhile have been calling my name since the day we met. I was going to ask her if I could get a personalize necklace or something. I love those things.

post Hawaiian Getaway

I hosted a dinner party tonight and it was a success. We all haven’t been able to get together for awhile because of the school work load so my friend and I decided to throw a dinner party. We randomly chose the theme to be Hawaiian. It was a pot luck dinner so everyone bought their share of the dinner.  I cooked my lemongrass chicken and there were other delicious dishes. I had friends come in from out of town and I really appreciated it. It showed how much they cared and valued our friendship. We hosted it at my friend’s apartment. I had a great time seeing all of my friends again; it was a nice reunion.

Wow everything seems to be working on my behalf for my Accounting class. I have a test today and it will indeed be the first difficult one this year and my classes all around it seem to be getting canceled or assignments seem to be postponed. I guess I should take it that I will do well, hopefully and ACE THE DAMN EXAM!

Hmm maybe not acing but passing. :D

*wishing myself good luck!

post An Extra Hour Please

I’ve been trying to get ahead of my schoolwork but all I’m getting is behind. Accounting has been killing me and I have an exam in it on Wednesday. I haven’t even started studying. I’m going to start turning in the homework and I’m going to start reading the book. The class isn’t that hard, it’s just a lot to take in and learn.

Last weekend, there was a Krispy Kreme Challenge at my school and approximately 3000 people participated. I went to support my friends who are a part of it. It was amazing how that many people came out to do it for a great cause. If you wanted to be a challenger, you run 2 miles to the Krispy Kreme, eat a dozen donuts and then run back. You didn’t have eat the donuts if you were a Casual runner. I’m determined to be in it next year, maybe just be a Casual runner though.
